converted to Islam because of swine

When a new show at 10:00 am in Beijing, China. Friday prayer time was three hours away. A man seen near the mosque.
The man hesitated for a moment standing in front of the mosque. There is a reluctance to set foot in a mosque, especially after seeing the writing on the gate of the mosque which was written in Chinese, English and Arabic reads "Just for the Muslims."
But the man brushed off doubts and ventured to enter the mosque.
"Can I help you?" Suddenly a man greeted him, the mosque's imam.
"I want to be a Muslim," said the man who accosted.
Mosque Imam smiled and greeted the man who wants to enter Islam. He took her to the "Muslim community" which is located near the mosque. The priest offered three small books on Islam. She wanted him to learn more about Islam, a religion that wants hugged.
The young man was not only read all the books, but read many other books on Islam. He also often took several priests in mosques to discuss to prove that he knows what he wants to do.
Finally, a priest led him to say two sentences creed and the young man became a Muslim official.
The man is Jang, who after converting to Islam changed his name to Salim. After bersyahadat, Salim tells why he wanted to become a Muslim.
"It all started from pork," Salim said, smiling.
Islamic teachings to eat foods in moderation, including a ban on eating pork, Salim trigger curiosity and encourage them to find out more about Islam.
"I researched medical journals and read a lot of books to look for answers," said Salim.
He found the answer why Islam forbids pork. Islam considers pigs unclean because they're eating everything or omnivores. Pigs do not differentiate between meat or vegetation in eating habits. Unlike cattle or sheep, for example, that only eat plants. Some scientists also say that eating pork can cause at least 70 kinds of diseases in humans.
"I found the same conclusion in traditional Chinese medicine is not recommended to eat pork meat and called it the most unhealthy and dangerous," said Salim.
Upon his experience, Jang interested in Islam and decided to convert to Islam. He is now a part of the Muslim community in China which, according to official data of more than 30 million people.
Islam has penetrated the country of China through the merchants, in the era of the Tang Dynasty about 1300 years ago. Even historical records there is a mention that the friends of Prophet Muhammad never visited China.
Although the Muslim community in China is quite large, they are often the targets of oppression and discrimination the Chinese government communist leanings. But who can block out the light of Islam and guidance which Allah gave to his people. Jang or Salim is one such example. He got guidance with a unique background, simply because of the pork.
